“Instead of the beer we drank years ago, this time we are sipping on beer crafted with the finest local ingredients, with our own hands, to pay homage to Georgia.” - Chris & J. Ryce

Where Craft Meets Community in Valdosta
Nestled in the charming city of Valdosta, Georgia Beer Co. is a craft beer oasis that brings Southern hospitality and innovative brewing together in perfect harmony. Founded by college buddies Chris Jones and Jack “J. Ryce” Martin, this brewery is the culmination of a dream that began while camping and sitting by the nightly bonfire with their dormmates at Valdosta State University. What started as homebrewing experiments between friends has grown into the southernmost brewery in Georgia—a place where tradition, creativity, and community come together, one pint at a time.
Chris and J. Ryce didn’t just stop at crafting exceptional beers—they’ve also made it their mission to showcase the bounty of their home state. Georgia Beer Co. is dedicated to using locally grown ingredients whenever possible, a tribute to the region’s rich agricultural heritage. This commitment infuses every sip with an authentic taste of Georgia, making their brews not just delicious but deeply connected to the land they come from.
Georgia Beer Co - Dark:30 Black IPA
Among the standout creations is the Dark:30 Black IPA, a bold and complex beer with an enticing balance of roasted malt and citrusy hops. Perfect for those who crave both richness and refreshment, it’s a testament to the brewery’s knack for crafting flavors that linger long after the last drop. On the lighter side of things is the Blueberry Field Party, a playful, fruity delight that captures the essence of a summer harvest in Georgia. Tart and refreshing with just a hint of sweetness, it’s a beer that speaks to the brewery’s spirit of innovation. I finished the evening with Destress Express Coffee Milk Stout. Let me tell you, this beer doesn’t just live up to it’s name –it trandscends it. Rich and creamy, with a robust coffee kick that could wake the dead, it was perfect antidote to road fatigue. Every sip felt like a high five from the brewing gods, reassuring me that is was worth the stop.
But Georgia Beer Co. is more than just its beer. The welcoming taproom and vibrant beer garden are hubs of community activity, hosting everything from live music to laid-back gatherings and their blowout Oktober Fest. Every visit feels like joining an extended family, one that’s passionate about good times, great beer, and making everyone feel at home.
Whether you’re a craft beer connoisseur or a curious traveler passing through, Georgia Beer Co. is a must-stop destination. It’s a place where friendship, passion, and local pride come together to create something truly special.
Cheers to Chris and J. Ryce, two college buddies who turned their dream into a legacy worth toasting. 🍻
